Under the original charter of Gates County Rescue Squad, Inc the founders built the department based on the vision of providing rescue services to Gates County. Today Gates County Rescue & EMS serves as the First Due Rescue Company (primary response) for all rescue based needs within Gates County as well as making them selves available to respond outside the county under mutual aid agreements should the need arise. Among the ranks of Gates County Rescue & EMS staff are people trained and certified as Technical Rescue providers in Vehicle Extrication, Rope Rescue, Trench Rescue, Structural Collapse Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Wilderness Rescue, Water Rescue, AG Rescue, and Hazardous Material Operations.
